From her drowsy toned flows to her androgynous swag, KARRAHBOOO Is one to have your eye on! Some may know her from her ‘viral’ verse on Tik-tok, but who is this 26-year old rapper…?

Karrah Schuster was born on March 28, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. Not much is known publicly about her family life or early upbringing. While her full heritage still remains elusive, It was believed by many online that she is of mixed heritage. She cleared up allegations surrounding not being of black decent on episode 7 of Lil Yachty’s ‘A Safe Place Podcast’, where she states “I’m mixed”.
It is known that before she started music she worked as a night-club bottle girl. She then met Grammy nominated rapper ‘Lil Yachty’ (also known and referenced as ‘Lil Boat’) through mutual friends. According to @syspenceyo on Tik-tok, around this time she was ready for a new career path and asked Yatchy for “some change”. As a result of this Karrah (now known as KARRAHBOOO) was offered the role of Lil Yahtcy’s assistant, which she went on to take.

In an interview with Montreality she admitted that “when I was 10, I wanted to be on Bad Girls Club and I wanted to be an actress” adding that she still does. She admitted that her motives for becoming a rapper actually stemmed from these exact dreams. When explaining her journey so far on the ‘A Safe Place Podcast’, she explained that seeing Lil Yachty doing film cameo’s during the period she worked for him made her believe that becoming a rapper would be a way to open doors for her chance at acting.
It wasn’t until she stopped working for Lil Yahty that KARRAHBOOO started taking music seriously. She disclosed on ‘A safe place podcast’ that she ended up recording her first song and shooting it’s music video after being fired by Yachty as she “was bored” and “had a lot of free time”.
She released her first song in 2022 by the title ‘Money counter’ and took to twitter to tell people she received an offer from her ‘favourite rapper’ on the same day. By the next year she was signed under Yachty’s label ‘Quality Control’ and was made a part of his collective ‘Concrete Boys’. Lil Yachty posted a video to Tik-Tok of the female-rapper unboxing a diamond encrusted chain with a pendant displaying the labels iconic ‘QC’ logo with the caption ‘Big Booo, We Welcome You With Open Arms @karrahbooo’ (@lilyachty via Tik-tok)
In March that same year she released the track ‘Box the 40’, her first release as a signed artist. The next month in April, 2023 KARRAHBOOO featured in an Atlanta ‘Boiler Room’ set alongside Tony Shhnow and YellaBandanna. She started her set by showing off her DJing skills before going on to performing her own music. Then on October 12, 2023 she dropped joint track ‘SPLASH BROTHERS’ along-side artist Anycia.
KARRAHBOOO’s first few releases were already pushing her in the right direction. But it wouldn’t be until October 20, 2023 that she’d take the internet by storm with her verse on the ‘Concrete Cypher’ (On the Radar Radio, via Youtube). The cypher features all the Concrete Boys Members including Lil Yachty, Draft Day, Camo! and DC2Trill and KARRAHBOOO.
KARRAHBOOO was last to rap in the cypher and although her verse lasted less than one- minute, this musical moment was about to be a huge turning point in her career. Her verse quickly went viral on social media and became a trending Tik-Tok sound. The juxtaposition of her smooth nonchalant flow mixed with the unruly content of her lyrics, is what set KARRAHBOOO apart from her peers. This garnered her a following of people who were a fan of her unique style and sound.
Having explored her past and career so far, we entered 2024 with one more release under her belt titled ‘RUNNING LATE’ which dropped in November, 2023. It generated 2.3 million views(Youtube) and 2.8 million streams(Spotify) in the first two months of dropping. Only time will tell how her career navigates the new digital age, but her prospects project a promising future. We might be seeing her movie debut or career in reality tv a lot sooner than we think!
